There’s the installed PCI-E card, powered by 4 pin Molex and the 20 pin front panel connection port/cable. Sexy I know.
Ok when the PCI-E card was seated correctly the attachment screw didn’t line up. Forcing it to line up unseated the card and it wouldn’t work:
So I got creative and attached the screw to the left notch. Hey maybe that’s what those notches are fore huh? Brilliant!
Ok so here’s the unbelievably crappy thing. I did a test to see how long it would take my USB2 powered hub vs the USB 3 Front Panel to transfer 1.5 gigs of data. Surely the USB 3 would kick ass? Nope the USB 2 took 55 seconds and the USB 3 front panel took 89 seconds!!! Sooo I installed all this crap for nothing. Time to read up on why. Ya my motherboard’s 5 years old but that shouldn’t be it.
