I studied a lot of wine bottle looks before my shoot. I liked the one-softbox look. I could have diffused the light even more by hanging a sheet of vellum or tracing paper between the softbox and the bottle, but I didn’t. I kinda like the harsher highlight, it pops more.
All total it took about 9 hours to shoot and retouch the bottles. Most of the retouching was done on the label imperfections. I sent them to the client last night, let’s hope they like the shots!

I had planned to do the same effect in photoshop post shoot but decided I liked how they looked as is. If you want to see examples of a more diffused highlight see the bottles at http://fetzer.com I’m sure their photographer had a nice big expensive studio and the proper gear to hang vellum.
